What services does NAMI offer?

NAMI Four County is an affiliate of the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for those affected by mental illness. NAMI offers FREE educational classes, monthly programs, and support groups to individuals and families. NAMI is the nation’s leading voice on mental illness providing advocacy at the local, state, and national level.

Who is eligible to receive services?

NAMI Four County serves the residents of Defiance, Fulton, Henry, and Williams

Counties. Anyone living with a mental health condition, or caring for someone who is; a

partner, friend, family member, veteran, first responder, professional, or someone just

starting on a mental health journey can join NAMI.

Where are NAMI services provided?

NAMI staff and volunteers provide classes, support groups, and presentations within the

Four County area and at the local ADAMhs Board, located in Archbold, OH.

How will residents benefit from NAMI services?

NAMI offers understanding that only those with lived experience of mental illness can provide, and recognizes that the key concepts of recovery, resiliency, and support are essential to improving the wellness and quality of life for all persons affected by mental illness. The classes offered are designed to increase coping skills, promote better understanding of mental health conditions, and empower participants to advocate.

  • NAMI Basics is for parents or caregivers of children who have been diagnosed

or are experiencing symptoms of a mental health condition.

  • NAMI Family-to-Family is for families, partners, and friends of individuals with

mental illness.

  • NAMI Homefront is a class for families, partners, and friends of military service

members and veterans experiencing a mental health challenge.

  •  NAMI Family & Friends is a presentation where participants learn about

diagnoses, treatment, recovery, communication strategies, and crisis

preparation.
