Agency Spotlight: Maumee Valley Guidance Center  

Maumee Valley Guidance Center (MVGC) has a variety of programs and services to support the need for mental health care in our communities. MVGC’s services include:

  • Individual, family, and group therapy for the entire age spectrum
  • Substance use treatment including therapy, groups, and MAT (medication-assisted treatment)
  • Star Behavioral Health providers for veterans and military members
  • Medication management (assessment and diagnosis; psychiatric medication evaluation and management, consultation, and treatment)
  • Case management services for people with severe and persistent mental illness
  • Clubhouse socialization group (daily living skills development, recreation, and leisure activity in an environment of staff and client)
  • Parent Cafes using the Strengthening Families Framework
  • Prevention programming for schools, community, and industries such as Mental Health First Aid, SOS Signs of Suicide, Incredible Years program and more
  • Staff of Ohio Certified Prevention Specialists, EMDR trained therapist, nurse practitioners, etc.

MVGC’s mission is to provide the tools & assistance needed for individuals to enhance their quality of life on a day-to-day basis. MVGC serves residents of Williams, Henry, Defiance, and Fulton County.
